Ipswich and England fan dreams of perfect season end18 hours agoBy Brian Farmer,trabzonspor joma yağmurluk BBC News, SuffolkShareKarim GoodchildKarim Goodchild has followed England throughout Euro 2024 in GermanyAn Ipswich Town and England fan has been waiting for Sunday's Euro 2024 final to kick off in Germany and is dreaming of a perfect end to an "amazing" season.Karim Goodchild, from Ipswich, saw his team win promotion to the Premier League in May.The 25-year-old has also been in Germany to see every step of England's progression to Sunday's final against Spain.He is in Berlin, has a €95 (£81) ticket for the final and said: "It's just totally overwhelming.” Karim GoodchildKarim Goodchild watched a local football game in Berlin while waiting for Sunday's Euro 24 finalMr Goodchild, who runs a vehicle recovery firm, said: “There's just nothing I can say to describe it."I've been an Ipswich fan since I was a little boy and they haven't done anything until this season."I saw pretty much every game this season and watched them get promoted."I haven't missed an England game in seven years."He added: "People keep asking me which is better - Ipswich getting promoted or England winning on Sunday? "Club or country?"I just don't know."All I can say is that it's been an amazing year."Karim GoodchildIpswich fan Mr Goodchild (right) travelled to Germany with friendsEngland's qualification for the final has led to many fans making an expensive last-minute dash to Berlin.Tickets are being resold via some agencies from £1,300 for "cheap" seats, while VIP packages are going for £67,000. Governing body Uefa said tickets bought through secondary markets may be “fraudulent” and might be cancelled. Karim GoodchildMr Goodchild has a ticket to the final and has been sightseeing in Berlin - including visiting Checkpoint CharlieMr Goodchild, who travelled to Germany with his friends, arrived in Berlin on Thursday and has been relaxing and seeing the sights.He said he got a ticket for the final as a result of being a member of the England Supporters Travel Club.The Football Association's allocation of tickets, available only to England Supporters Travel Club members who have attended games abroad and earned loyalty points, went on sale on Friday after a ballot."That's the advantage of being in the travel club and going to watch England games," he said."The idea is that you build up points by watching England games and get priority."I paid €95 for my ticket - which I didn't think was too bad."But lots of people haven't got tickets."I've got lots and lots of mates who haven't got tickets."My phone is full of messages."Follow Suffolk news on Facebook, Instagram and X.
